Mayke Hogestijn's design philosophy is simple. She sees a home as an intensely personal space.
Comfortably liveable and already lived-in, free flowing and hanging together so well that it has a completely organic feel.
Where cherished items have a place and 'production line design' has no place.
Where every item looks as though it belongs there, exactly there, and nowhere else.
Mayke works with people who want their surroundings to reflect their individuality.

"Interior design has everything to do with the state of the world we live in today.
"In a relatively short space of time our world has become a very different place. A sustainable way of living, enjoyed for centuries, has been replaced over the last 30 or 40 years by a throwaway, consumer culture where everything must be new and individual style counts for little. And we're paying the price.
"I have always believed that re-using, mending and recycling is at the heart of creativity and expression in design. It's about celebrating craftsmanship, appreciating integrity and giving something back to future generations. It's called sustainable interior design and it starts in the home, our safe haven.
"Home should be where our past and present converge in a beautiful balance. Our personal living space."

The results of Mayke's work speak for themselves. With a portfolio of projects spanning fifteen years, she has applied her design philosophy to tiny cottages, large country houses and everything in between.
Interiors, exteriors, gardens and major renovations have all benefited from her touch.
Mayke's passion for the antique and the artisanal, and her determination to re-use and recycle where possible means that no two projects ever turn out the same.
