Delivery, Returns & Payments

When you place an order with us, you are deemed to have accepted the terms & conditions set out below. Do please read this page carefully, taking especial note of the paragraphs marked NB. Thank you!

 

 

DELIVERY TIMES

 

Providing all items in your order are in stock, we aim to ship as quickly as possible, but please allow 14 days for delivery.

 

Delivery of out-of-stock items may take from 6 - 8 weeks. For furniture and Special Order (S/O) items please allow for a delivery time of up to 12 weeks. As soon as your order is complete it will be shipped to you.

Items are not charged to you until the day we ship them to you.

 

NB The out-of-stock delivery times are only an indication. As most of our products are handmade and imported, it isn't possible to guarantee delivery times and we may receive the products either sooner or later than is indicated above. However, we DO guarantee that we will keep you informed as and when we get any updates ourselves and that your order will be shipped to you as soon as we have received it ourselves.

 

UK MAINLAND DELIVERIES (excl. Northern Ireland & Isle of Wight)

 

Lavender & Sage Ltd will deliver any order to UK mainland addresses for a Standard Postage & Packing charge of £5.50 per address. The exceptions to this standard charge are larger items (such as furniture); Shipping & Packing charges for these are indicated by the following symbols:

Light weight items: £10

Medium weight items: £20

Heavy items:  £30*

Extra Heavy items:  £55*

(* Heavy and Extra Heavy weight shipments to Scotland are charged at cost. Please phone us for a quote.)


The Postage & Packing charges are per delivery, not per item (with the exception of Dining chairs** and High stools ***), and include delivery cost, packing materials and handling. The P&P charge is standard and irrespective of the size of your order. In case of multiple 'weights', the P&P charge of the heaviest item in your order will be charged. Orders are shipped via courier or via Royal Mail (standard parcel or 2nd class), depending on postcode and weight/size of parcel.

 

** Dining chair orders

Shipping charges for dining chair orders (Farmhouse, Shepherd or Mango) are as follows:

1 chair –   £10

2 chairs –   £20

4 chairs –   £30

6 – 8 chairs –  £55

*** High stool orders

Shipping charges for High stool (CFF3623) orders are as follows:

1 stool –   £10

2 stools –  £10

3 stools –  £20

4 stools –  £20


When you have placed your order on the website, you will be sent a confirmation email with your order details. If you do not, please let us know on sales@lavenderandsage.co.uk. The day your order is shipped, you will be sent a shipping email with the details of items shipped, and a tracking info email with the details pertaining to the shipping method of your order. If your order was shipped by courier, the email will contain the tracking label number of your parcel and their telephone number, so that you may get in touch with them to check the delivery status of your shipment.

Changing of shipping address
If you wish to change the delivery address after you have placed an order, please let us know. Please bear in mind that if your order has already been shipped and our couriers charge us extra for the change in address, the extra cost will be charged to you.
 
NB Medium, Heavy & Extra Heavy weight delivery charges are based on unimpeded lorry access to your house, and on ground floor delivery only, i.e. no steps, stairs or slopes. In all other cases, please inform us when ordering, as we will need to discuss with the couriers whether an additional delivery charge to you is applicable. If we are not informed and there is a problem with delivery, the item will be returned to us and we will have to charge you for the cost of this return, which is likely to be higher than the original delivery charge.


NB Medium, Heavy & Extra Heavy weight delivery charges are based on the entire order being shipped together. If you should require part of your order shipped earlier, please inform us when ordering and we will quote you a new delivery charge.
 
S/O - Special Orders

NB Special Order items are those that are ordered especially for you from our suppliers in France. In case you wish to cancel a Special Order item, there is a cancellation charge of £25 per item. If, however, the item is not ready to be dispatched to you within the 12 weeks' maximum delivery time, the cancellation will not be charged. For details of which of our products are specially ordered, please check the individual product descriptions for the symbol S/O

 

UK NON-MAINLAND DELIVERIES (incl. Northern Ireland, Isle of Wight, Scottish Isles, Channel islands, etc.)

We're very happy to ship to any non-mainland address with a UK postcode. Shipping charges on parcels weighing over 2 kilograms, as well as on Medium, Heavy & Extra Heavy items, will be charged at cost. Simply put in your order on the site and we will contact you to let you know how much your additional shipping will come to. The standard additional handling charge for UK non-mainland shipments is £1.50 per order. The resulting P&P charge (minus the shipping charge in your initial order) will then be put through in a second order, for which you will need to supply us with your credit card details.

 

 

INTERNATIONAL DELIVERIES

 

We're very sorry, but we do not ship abroad at present.

 


NB SIGNING FOR DELIVERIES


Standard, light & medium weight deliveries

Deliveries must be signed for. When you are asked to sign for your delivery, please print the words 'CONTENTS UNCHECKED' before signing. Otherwise goods damaged in transfer are uninsured.

 

Heavy weight deliveries

Lavender & Sage cannot take responsibility for damage done to heavy weight deliveries once they have been collected from our warehouse by the courier. Please be advised that you are required to print the words 'CONTENTS UNCHECKED' on the courier paperwork, before signing it off as having been received by you. Otherwise the courier company's insurance cannot be held liable, and a replacement item will not be sent, nor a refund given.  




RETURNS AND REFUND POLICY

 

At Lavender & Sage we operate a no-quibble refund guarantee. If you are not happy with the item, just return it - unused, in good order and in its original packaging - within 14 days of receipt, and we will refund the money to you, minus the P&P charge. Just complete and enclose the returns form with the item and send it to:

Parcels that are returned to us remain the customer's responsibility (and a refund will not be given) until they are received by us. We recommend that you send your returns by recorded post and that you retain proof of postage. Goods are returned at your own expense.

If the item was damaged when you received it, please notify us within 5 days of receipt. Replacement items will be sent to you free of P & P.

If the wrong item was sent and we agree with you that you will return it to us, we will refund Standard Parcel or 2nd class postage charges. Please retain your proof of postage.

  

 
FURNITURE RETURNS

Items marked with the symbols   and   may be returned at the time of delivery for a full refund or replacement without incurring any additional delivery charge. Should you wish to return the item at a later date, you will incur the collection charge at cost. Self-assembly furniture cannot be returned once assembly is part or fully completed, except when the item is faulty.

UNDELIVERABLE PARCELS

 

If your parcel is shipped by courier, you will receive an email with the tracking number of your parcel, as well as a phone number for the courier. Please phone them if your parcel has not been delivered after 3 working days. The courier will attempt two deliveries and if you are out, will leave a calling card on each occasion. Please contact the courier as soon as possible to rearrange delivery. If we are made aware that delivery has been attempted and you have not made contact with the courier, we will contact you by email to remind you. However, we are not always aware of delivery problems, and sometimes the parcel gets returned to us as being undeliverable.

If this happens and you'd like us to send your order out again, we will have to charge the standard P&P of £5.50 again. If you'd like to cancel your order at this point, the total order amount will be credited to your account, with the exception of the P&P charge. 

If you do not have an email address, please do not hesitate to phone us to obtain your parcel's tracking information.

 

N.B. If your parcel is shipped by Royal Mail, please allow up to 7 days for delivery.

 

This does not affect your statutory rights.

 

 

PRICE CHANGES

 

Prices in our catalogue are correct at the time of going to press, however, Lavender & Sage reserve the right to change them during the life of the catalogue.

General price review rounds are in January and August, with new pricing effective February/March and August/September. For the latest and correct price information, please consult our website which always displays the most current prices and details.

 

 

PAYMENT

 

All payments to Lavender & Sage Ltd are in British Pounds Sterling only.

 

 

CHEQUE PAYMENTS

 

As orders which are paid by cheque require quite a lot of administration, we require a minimum order of £45 excluding P&P. Once your order is received, your cheque will be sent to our bank for payment*, after which your order will be shipped. If not all items on your order are in stock, we will wait until your order can be sent complete, before presenting you cheque for payment.

 

(*From the moment we send off the cheque, please allow 10 - 12 days for the funds to be cleared by the issuing bank)

 

 

CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS

  

Your payment will be processed by HSBC - none of your credit card details are stored on our systems at Lavender & Sage. This means that, for any addition to your initial order, a new order will have to be entered and your credit card details taken again. Your account will only be debited for any goods that are shipped. Any backorders won't be charged until they have been sent to you.

As we do not have access to your credit card details, we can only debit your card to the amount your authorised us to in your order.
